Project Description

We tagged six salmonid species in Lake Ontario to better understand the spatial and depth use patterns of the species and whether they use spatially distinct habitat to segregate themselves.

Objectives

To determine whether the salmonid species in Lake Ontario segregate spatially (horizontally and vertically) and where the core home ranges are for each species. Given a high proportion of dietary overlap, the species may use different spatial habitats in response to prevent competitive interactions.
