Project Description

There are three studies that were involved in this project: 1. Lake trout studies: sex differences in spawning site use, spawning site fidelity, lake-wide seasonal movements and spawning site selection 2. Inter-basin movement of walleye in a system fragmented by shallow causeways 3. Development of site-residence assessment methods that account for varying detection range

Management Benefits

Contributing to expanding knowledge on lake trout spawning behavior, a species that is the focus of restoration efforts in the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain. Describing the lake-wide movements of lake sturgeon, an endangered species. Describing lake-wide movement, including spawning site fidelity, of walleye in a fragmented lake.
